Health Benefit of Lemongrass
Hi friends of SlimGourmet! We have already familiar with one of herbs thateasily found, lemongrass. Lemongrass is herbal plant from Poaceae grass from tropical Asia and often be used in culinary world. Lemongrass has medical benefit as anti bacterial, anti fungi, anti microba, and also source of some vitamins (vitamin A, B1 (Thiamin), B2 (Ribovlafin), B3 (Niacin), B5 (Pantotenat Acid), B6 (Pyridoxine), folic acid, and vitamin C). Besides that, lemongrass is also good source of minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphor, manganese, chopper, zinc, and iron.
Antiseptic agents in lemongrass can prevent microorganism bacteria,process kidney & liver detoxification, maintain weight, and lower LDL, cholesterol, and triglyceride level. Flavonoids antioxidants and phenolic agents (luteolin, glikocide, quercetin, kaempferol, elimicin, catecol, clhorogenat acid, caffeic acid), can help prevent blood lipid accumulation and atherosclerosis. Then, citral compounds in lemongrass can lower the risk of cancer; anti inflammation in lemongrass can help in arthritis, rheumatic, muscle spasm, and osteoporosis treatment; vitamin C
content also can help in sore throat, fever, and flu prevention. We usually using lemongrass by chopping or smashing to get its flavor and use it in any kind of dish like soup, stock, curry, sauce, and salad dressing.
